Croy Engineering's Andrew Romain recently participated in the Friends of Smyrna Library & DixieLUG "Books & Bricks" LEGO Exhibition. The exhibits included townscapes, landscapes, moving trains, MOCs, and kid creations. The Books & Bricks event was sponsored by the Dixie LEGO Users Group and the Friends of Smyrna Library. DixieLUG is a LEGO user group for adult fans of LEGO in the southeast United States. DixieLUG has members from Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee. The primary focus of the LUG is socialization, sharing, and collaboration of the LEGO hobby. DixieLUG hold approximately six meeting a year are participates in several public displays each year.DixieLUG members are collectors, hobbyists, artists, and fans of the brick!
Proceeds from the event were donated to the Youth Services collection of the Smyrna Public Library. Smyrna Public Library is the oldest city operated library in the state of Georgia. Library cards are free for City of Smyrna residents, real property holders and business/corporations holding a Smyrna business license. The library regularly holds events that benefit the local community such as free Infant & Toddler Story Time, as well as events such as the LEGO Exhibit. The Smyrna Public Library offers approximately 40 programs each month during the school year, including a variety of story time classes and events for children of all ages. The library is an important part of the Smyrna Community.
