POSITION TITLE
CAD Technician
DIRECTION
This employee will receive supervision from Croy’s Surveying Department Manager. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and project-driven, as well as has the drive to further their career, shows stability and aptitude, and possesses a positive attitude. This person will need to have the ability to take instruction, learn, consult, give direction, act responsively, work efficiently, and grow with our company, in addition to demonstrating hard work, collaboration, and diligence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform drafting in AutoCAD and other programs.
- Perform miscellaneous and various design services and tasks.
- Deliver and retrieve documents and files to and from various sources.
- Work and communicate in a team environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Lead all drafting efforts and point processing (both conventional and GPS) for Croy’s Surveying Department
- Coordinate field work completion, preparation, calculation sheets, drafting efforts, and quality with Croy’s Director of Surveying
- Review boundary retracements with the respective Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
- Assist with condensing the drafting process to improve quality, consistency, and overall plat development efforts
- Assist and consult with leadership regarding training opportunities and timing
- Assist with reviewing credentials and qualifications for new hires within the department
- Assist with coordination and creation of invoices and change orders when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience
- Boundary/cadastral survey experience (GDOT/ALDOT/TDOT database prep experience preferred)
- Extensive Civil 3D CAD drafting is required
- MicroStation Openroads/InRoads, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center experience
- Trimble survey equipment experience (Total Station and GPS)
- Topographic mapping skills and the ability to draw detailed sketches of structures
