ACEC Georgia Engineering Excellence Honor Award-Winning Project

With a continued significant growth in population, The City of Smyrna had a rising need to monitor key areas of the city from a central location. Primary goals were traffic efficiency, event management, security, and weather-related events. Croy Engineering was selected to work with the City on an extensive design and installation project, and worked to develop a solution to meet their needs.  

Key Project Components Included:

  • Coordination with the City of Smyrna, Knine All Systems, and key personnel to identify specific needs
  • Installation of fiber network for camera systems
  • Layout plans for camera network
  • Design support, bidding, and construction management services
  • Integration of camera network into the City of Smyrna’s Geographical Information System network
  • 100 cameras can be accessed from any computer in the City with proper software
  • Public Works able to monitor condition of facilities from central location
  • Connection of system infrastructure to 911 center
  • System maintained on 200 terabyte independent server
