POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to take ownership of our IT infrastructure — from on-prem and cloud systems to user support and automation initiatives. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for system stability, security, and optimization, while mentoring junior IT team members and helping shape the future of our technology environment. You’ll also work hands-on with technologies like Windows Server, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft 365 Suite, VMware, Fortinet, and Unifi, ensuring our systems are reliable, efficient, and aligned with business goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and support Power Platform apps and workflows to enable more efficient business processes.
- Provide technical support for escalated helpdesk issues, troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and network problems.
- Administer and maintain cloud technologies, Windows Server infrastructure, virtual machines, switches, and wireless systems.
- Monitor, patch, and optimize systems to ensure peak performance, reliability, and compliance with security best practices.
- Manage and improve backup and disaster recovery environments to ensure business continuity.
- Lead incident management, including root cause analysis and implementation of preventive solutions.
- Oversee software licensing and renewals in collaboration with the Director of IT.
- Document and share knowledge, including network configurations, system procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support IT projects such as migrations, upgrades, and new deployments, working with both internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Champion innovation, recommending new tools and automation processes that improve stability, efficiency, and collaboration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration or technical support in a Windows environment.
- Proven expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra, M365 Suite, VMware, Fortinet, and Unifi.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, and VPN).
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Power Apps, or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills — able to explain complex concepts in clear, simple terms.
- Collaborative mindset and desire to mentor and support other IT team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent.
