Acquisition Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise a team of right-of-way acquisition agents in the acquisition of right-of-way for state and local transportation improvement projects.
  • Monitor project construction schedules and establish right-of-way project schedules to acquire the parcels on-time and within budget.
  • Track the progress of right-of-way projects using Project View and aid in completing the projects by the certification date.
  • Support the Right-of-Way Manager in providing deliverables and services on-time, within budget, and to the client’s
  • Provide mentoring, training, and negotiation assistance to right-of-way agents by problem-solving on challenging parcel assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in right-of-way acquisition and negotiation for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and/or metro Atlanta cities/counties.
  • State of Georgia Real Estate Salesperson License.
  • Understanding of GDOT’s right-of-way acquisition process.
  • GDOT pre-qualification in negotiation to closing.
  • Self-motivated and ability to apply independent judgement.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills – MS Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.

Landscape Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform concept and schematic design
  • Perform CAD drafting
  • Create renderings and presentation graphics
  • Develop construction documents
  • Develop opinion of cost documents
  • Provide technical leadership and management of landscape architecture projects
  • Serve as a client contact, while coordinating with project team members both inside and outside of the firm

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
  • Licensure in one of the following states: Alabama, Georgia, or Tennessee, or the ability to seek reciprocity/comity within the first year of employment in one or all these states

Lead Design Civil Engineer / Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare construction documents suitable for land disturbance permitting with various local issuing authorities
  • Manage engineering projects, including the scoping, design, schedule, budgets, resources, and quality control
  • Prepare erosion, pollution, and sedimentation control plans
  • Manage and lead staff on project production and assist in their professional development
  • Provide detailed design and calculations for various civil projects, including grading and drainage, stormwater, roadway, utility, and erosion
  • Lead the project team to provide deliverables and services on-time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent

Traffic Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with research and studies of traffic operations and safety.
  • Create simulation models.
  • Prepare technical reports, such as traffic engineering reports and traffic impact studies.
  • Perform CAD drafting.
  • Perform other engineering duties as needed to support various internal departments with projects related to traffic engineering, engineering design, and planning.

Transportation Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support an array of both state and local transportation improvement projects.
  • Handle design efforts, including prepare engineering plans, construction documents, reports, hydraulic analysis, and cost estimates.
  • Support the project manager in providing deliverables and services on-time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Assist in mentoring junior transportation engineers.
  • Attend industry conferences and local community support events.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in transportation engineering and design for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and/or metro Atlanta cities/counties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an engineering-related field from an accredited higher education institution.
  • Engineer-in-Training preferred, or be able to attain within 12 months of hire.
  • Understanding of GDOT’s Plan Development Process, Design Policy Manual, AASHTO Green Book, MUTCD, and Georgia Blue Book.

Aviation Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage engineering projects, including the scoping, design, schedule, budgets, resources, quality control, and client relations.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis for aviation and civil designs at general, regional, and international aviation facilities utilizing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) design specifications.
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for clients, including project planning, scoping, scheduling, and funding coordination; facility and project planning; subcontracting, funding application; and coordination with FAA and GDOT.
  • Lead the project team to provide deliverables and services on-time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Maintain quality control and assurance measures per Croy standards and requirements and provide oversight in development and production of project drawings, specifications, documents, and reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an engineering-related field from an accredited higher education institution
  • Five years of aviation or civil engineering experience
    • Master’s degree and four years of aviation or civil engineering experience acceptable in lieu of Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Georgia (required)
    • Consideration will be given to registered engineers licensed in another state with the expectation that a Georgia Professional Engineer license is applied for at the time of on-boarding.

Office Drafting/GIS Technician (Entry Level)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process field information and draft drawings and plats based on collected field information.
  • Work with the Surveying Manager to input data from records, data collection efforts, and other mapping sources to produce high-quality GIS maps and databases.
  • Perform drafting in AutoCAD, ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, Trimble Business Center, OpenRoads, and other programs.
  • Schedule and work in a team environment to develop plats that meet or exceed the minimum requirements of the states of Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of experience in an office environment (preferred)
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and retain a clean motor vehicle report
  • Possess the ability to stand on your feet for a minimum of three hours per day, up to 8-12 hours a day
  • Possess the ability to work in an office environment, work independently, and be self-motivated

Project Surveyor

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Surveyor is responsible for the successful execution of survey projects.
  • The Project Surveyor will lead drafting efforts and point processing (both conventional and GPS) for Croy’s surveying department.
  • The Project Surveyor will coordinate field work completion, preparation, calculation sheets, drafting, and quality with Croy’s Survey Field Manager.
  • Review boundary retracements with the PLS in charge across Croy’s office locations with the purpose of condensing the drafting to improve quality, consistency, and overall plat development efforts.
  • Train draftsman and field crew personnel, as well as assist and consult when training is needed.
  • Assist with the development of proposal materials and resource allocation.
  • Assist in reviewing credentials and qualifications during the hiring process of team members.
  • Coordinate budgets, project progress, and discuss options for projects with clients and staff.
  • Coordinate schedules, budgets, and project preparation with Field Coordinator for 2-3 crews on a day-to-day basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10 years of experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Project Manager, directly working with clients in a leadership role
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience with project tracking systems, project management, and billings
  • Boundary/cadastral survey experience (GDOT/ALDOT/TDOT database prep experience preferred)
  • Extensive Civil 3D CAD drafting is required, and some Carlson Survey drafting included based on client

EXPECTATIONS

Office staff are expected to work from 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Field crews are expected to work four ten-hour shifts per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Surveyor oversees the day-to-day operations of field and office staff for multiple projects and locations, including tracking of deliverables.

Survey Crew Chief

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise all field operations, such as measurements, drawing of sketches, construction staking, property corner staking, and other data collection.
  • Act as the point-of-contact for clients in the field and communicate the progress of the project to the Survey Manager and/or engineer.
  • Provide guidance to technicians on use of survey equipment and ensure that crew members follow standard procedures.
  • Use field data and notes to draft projects to completion using CADD software.
  • Operate GPS and scanning equipment with knowledge of their capabilities.
  • Manage daily downloading of data collectors.
  • Troubleshoot problems with field equipment and fix minor issues in the field.
  • Inform the Survey Manager about survey equipment that needs repairs or supplies that need to be ordered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief (pay commensurate to experience)
  • Boundary/cadastral survey experience (GDOT/ALDOT/TDOT database prep experience preferred)
  • Topographic mapping skills with the ability to draw detailed sketches of structures
  • Trimble survey equipment experience (Total Station and GPS)
  • Ability to perform calculations and work with computer programs
  • 107 pilots license (preferred)
  • Precise field note keeping and documentation skills
  • Ability to walk long distances, work overtime/nights/weekends/out of town (as needed)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle report
  • Ability to read, write, and understand plans and direction given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to create and/or edit in Microsoft Suite software
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of three hours per day (up to eight hours per day)
  • Ability to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven group varying in height and consistency of material, with variation of elevation 12 inches or less (i.e., mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Required to wear and work using GPI-standard PPE (i.e., hard hats, safety vests, work boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.)

Municipal Engineer/Project Manager (Senior Level)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop scope of services and fee estimates for professional services related to municipal projects, as well as prepare proposal letters.
  • Manage and lead staff on project production and assist in their professional development.
  • Provide and review detailed design and calculations for various civil projects, including municipal, water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, road, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Develop water, sewer, and storm systems models for various municipal clients and prepare reports documenting model preparation and results.
  • Prepare and review contract documents suitable for bidding.
  • Prepare and review permit applications and pursue approval.
  • Monitor the quality and progress of construction projects.
  • Ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Attend evening municipal meetings and hearings, as necessary.
  • Assist municipal clients pertaining to their MS4 regulations and annual reports.
  • Prepare Engineer’s Opinion of Cost for clients’ budgets.
  • Prepare and evaluate pump station designs.
