POSITION TITLE
Alabama Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead execution of all survey projects located in Alabama. This includes the following roles and responsibilities as it relates to all surveying and mapping efforts on Alabama-based projects:
- Lead drafting efforts and point processing (both conventional and GPS) and coordinate training opportunities for both crews and office staff.
- Coordinate field work completion, preparation, calculation sheets, drafting, and quality.
- Prepare forecast of workload for assigned staff (field and office).
- Review boundary retracements with the purpose of condensing the drafting to improve quality, consistency, and overall plat development efforts.
- Assist with the development of proposal materials and resource allocation.
- Coordinate schedules, budgets, and project preparation.
- Review work for consistency of presentation and the application of appropriate standards. Responsible for the quality of product.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and progress for timely completion of projects.
- Assist with review of client billings and monitor outstanding accounts receivable.
- Develop probable cost estimates for survey projects as requested by the client.
- Review, sign, and seals plans and/or easements as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed to practice Land Surveying in the State of Alabama (PLS)
- Boundary/cadastral survey experience (ALDOT database prep experience preferred)
- MicroStation InRoads, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center experience
- Trimble survey equipment experience (Total Station and GPS)
- Topographic mapping skills and the ability to draw detailed sketches of structures
