Westover Boulevard Extension

Multilane Roundabout and Minor Street Stop Control Improves Traffic Congestion and Access to Albany Mall

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) along with Dougherty and Lee County officials selected Croy to develop and design an extension of Westover Boulevard to ease traffic congestion along Nottingham Way in Albany, Georgia. In line with the GDOT Plan Development Process, the project evolved to include a modern multilane roundabout with sidewalks and multi-use pathways and a highway underpass. Due to tight constraints for crossing the expressway, a multi-stage design was created to raise Liberty Expressway over the extension with two new bridges.

Now complete, the new design improves traffic flow and provides safer access for Albany residents to a bustling commercial district.
