City of Fitzgerald Urban Pathway Concept

Master Plan to Link Parks with Pedestrian Trail

The City of Fitzgerald currently contains over 1.25 miles of widened medians throughout the downtown area. With downtown development surging, the City was interested in developing a master plan to develop 41 parks throughout these medians on Main and Central, quadrasecting the original city layout.

Fitzgerald engaged our Croy team to assess, plan, and develop cost estimates and TAP funding applications for these parks. Throughout the master plan, Croy was able to create an urban walking experience by linking the parks in a pedestrian trail winding through trees, artificial shade, benches, tables, art, and veterans’ memorials. These community spaces will serve as a mall for Saturday farmer’s markets, Christmas parades, architectural tours, as well as act as a centerpiece for Fitzgerald’s growing film industry.
