Croy Engineering provides on-call engineering services for the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport under a five-year contract for Capital Improvements. Following the firm’s selection in 2014, Croy was immediately tasked with undertaking the redesign of a storm drainage system for the Old Alabama Road realignment in order to avoid construction safety and airfield operational impacts and major cost overruns. The resulting realignment/relocation provided for fewer environmental impacts to the Etowah River, met all FAA safety requirements, and realized a cost savings of more than $1.5 million.
Among the projects Croy has been tasked with to date are:
- Airport Master Survey
- Storm Drainage System for Old Alabama Road Realignment
- Land Acquisition Services for Runway 1 Approach
- Automated Surface Observing System Relocation
- Airfield Hydrology Study and Relocation of Permanent Detention Pond
- Airport Perimeter Fencing
- Southeast and West Terminal Area Development Plans
- Runway Safety Area Bridge Design over Old Alabama Road
