Bill Carruth Parkway

Complex Road Widening Over Norfolk Southern Railroad

This complex project involved widening approximately three miles of Bill Carruth Parkway from north of Norfolk Southern Railroad to State Route 92 / Hiram-Douglasville Highway in Paulding County. The existing two-lane rural roadway was widened to four lanes with a 20-foot raised median, a six-foot-wide paved shoulder, and open drainage ditches. The project also included widening the existing two-lane bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad to a four-lane divided section, as well as signal modifications at three intersections due to lane additions.

Croy’s services on the project spanned concept design, database preparation, traffic signal design, construction plan preparation, erosion control design, QA/QC, and right-of-way plans.
