Award-Winning, State-of-the-Art Facility Bolsters Tennessee Community’s Quality of Life
Croy was retained by the City of Loretto, Tenn. to manage the design and construction of a new municipal pool complex. The project was identified in the City Park and Recreation Master Plan, which was also performed by Croy. The pool complex represented the first major renovation to the park in many years and was the largest capital project undertaken by the City of Loretto in more than 20 years.
Croy assisted the city in successfully procuring additional grant monies for the project through the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), effectively doubling the project budget. With a total project budget of $1.1 million, Croy managed a design team of architects, engineers, and pool specialists to deliver a 4,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art swimming pool and bathhouse that not only meets the needs of the city, but adheres to the sustainability goals and conditions of the TDEC grant monies.
As a testament to the project’s design and implementation, it was awarded a 2017 Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) North Alabama Chapter.
