John Hunt Park Complex Master Plan

Multi-Year Renovations Include State-of-the-Art Volleyball Facility

As a part of its multi-year renovations to John Hunt Park, the City of Huntsville opened a new 17-acre sand volleyball complex. Croy worked with a team of architects and engineers to design the $3.7 million sports amenity. The state-of-the-art beach/sand volleyball facility is expected to attract regional and national beach volleyball tournaments and players.

The courts include an average 24 inches of top-grade beach sand, along with an automated sand watering system. The complex also includes a locker room, concession area, and utility hook-ups in a designated area for food trucks. In addition to project management, Croy provided site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utility design, and construction phase services for the project.
