Pedestrian Improvements and Landscape Services
Croy has provided pedestrian improvements and landscape services for the University at Chattanooga. Key projects include:
ADA Compliance and Campus Gateway Concepts
Croy designed an ADA accessible gateway for the University, beginning at McCallie Avenue and extending to the pedestrian plaza at Oak Street. Other key project elements included the redesign of a courtyard at the office of the Chancellor, along with an emergency vehicle access, and an ADA accessible route to the Founders quad. Croy carried the design language from Oak Street Plaza through to McCallie Avenue, while creating inviting, accessible, and attractive spaces for gatherings and public address. The project includes native vegetation and permeable paving.
Pan-Hellenic Garden Concepts
Croy designed concepts for a new Pan Hellenic Garden for the Divine 9 Sororities and Fraternities represented at the UTC campus. The selected concept included nine pedestals with commemorative plaques and traditional Greek lettering, a hardscape plaza with enhanced paving and a scoring pattern depicting symbology from the National Pan-Hellenic council, seat walls with native stone veneer, accessible walkways, enhanced circulation, and landscape improvements. Croy developed illustrative graphic plan and perspective renderings, along with an Opinion of Cost to aid in University fundraising for implementation of the design.
