Croy, an award-winning multi-discipline consulting firm and leading provider of design solutions in the Southeast, announced the expansion of its operations into Tennessee with the opening of a Chattanooga office. The new location will help to accommodate the firm’s rapid growth, while leveraging the exceptional talent pool in the region.

“The decision to expand our presence into the Chattanooga area was a logical step in our business growth strategy,” said Eddie Wade, Vice President for the firm. “The area is a testament to the built environment, with a progressive focus on infrastructure and sustainable design.”

In addition to the expansion, Croy announced the hire of Russell D. Moorehead, PE, who will lead the new Tennessee operations. A former Public Works Director for the City of Marietta, Ga., Moorehead brings 33 years of experience in design, engineering, and project management to the firm. Moorehead relocated his family to Chattanooga in 2003, and he has been providing services to municipal and industrial clients for the last 15 years.

“I’ve known and worked with many of Croy’s leadership over the course of my career, so the decision to join this growing team was a natural choice,” said Moorehead. “It’s an exciting opportunity to be able to leverage their momentum to build and lead a new business practice in a community I’ve called home for many years.”

Moorehead’s extensive industry background includes experience related to municipal transportation, storm water management, water distribution, and wastewater collection issues. Moorehead is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Chattanooga and a registered professional engineer in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee.

“This expansion, coupled with the addition of Russell to our team, will enable us to grow in a new market, continuing to offer the same quality and accessibility our clients expect,” said Croy’s President Greg Teague. “In addition, we have always been a community focused company, and this location positions us to continue to deliver on that commitment.”

The new Chattanooga office is located at 1270 Market Street in the city’s Southside Historic District. It is the fourth office location for Croy and expands the firm’s geographic footprint to a third Southeastern state. Croy currently operates offices in Marietta and Smyrna, Ga., as well as Huntsville, Ala.
